In the world that we live today artists are being more creative and expressing themselves as never before I am proud to be among those that are thriving to make my mark as well my canvass is my music studio and in it you can find me working hard not for ego or fame but because this is what I love to do and I know that may artists feel the same way my problem is sometimes we don't feel like our work is respected especially by online media platforms such as You Tube, Spotify, Amazon etc. now I know that if you are a label artist you are shown more respect strictly based on your name or how many listeners you may have or how much money is paid by these labels while independents such as myself and others that I talked with feel left out of the conversation now no one is asking that these digital platforms should promote your work for free that is our job as the artist but at least respect us enough to put us in our right genre of music instead of just putting us in any section I feel disrespected in that manner because we are working just as hard if not harder than any major label artist ever has to work in most cases we have to do it all based on our budget restraints so I feel that the very least they could do is put your music with your fellow peers so while I am glad these outlets exist I just wish that they would take the time to think how hard and artist has to work just to make music no one is asking that you like our music that of course is a personal choice but at least acknowledge how that artist worked on that project and try to understand where they are coming from.
