Every day here in America someone in this country goes to bed hungry or homeless and in some cases both sometimes it is hard for us to believe that in one of the wealthiest countries in the world this would still be happening we all have opinions and theories of why this is or what can be done to end it and I will be the first to say it there are no simple answers this is a complicated issue and the reason for this is there are people who like to be out on the streets away from people and so they choose to live like this others have had bad luck in life and children in most cases have been abandoned by their parents or their parents are not well enough to take care of them some of them are mistreated in foster homes or group homes so they choose to leave as the system is not good enough to care for them either bureaucracy at its finest that is why things never get done because a lot of the decisions are being made by people who are not hungry or homeless and they are voted in office by people who are not hungry or homeless in both cases neither of the parties know what it feels like to be hungry or homeless I myself have never been hungry or homeless so the point of this is maybe we should actually start listening to people who are in this situation and assist them without looking down on them maybe they just want to be heard sometimes we learn more by listening than we do by speaking
