The fundamental reason that we vote is to either preserve the laws or policies that are in place or to change the ones that aren't working anymore and so we embark on this arduous process to choose a politician who will best serve the people and give them the help they need usually that is the easy part based on what's needed the hard part is when the election is over and the person that is chosen has to try and please their constituents they may want to help people right now but unfortunately that is not how it always works you politics is like a maze in a minefield wrong move and your political career is over and so are your dreams of helping others meanwhile the people that voted for you are left with the same issues that were there from the beginning and the reason is simple the system is slow and the process is even slower most people cannot afford to wait on what is needed now that is why I believe there are other ways to get people the immediate help they need and politicians need to use the power that they have to demand action sooner rather than later bills that should be passed should be passed in record time and the people in need should see this in a matter of weeks not months and years many of us may not have that long to wait I'm talking life and death sure we want to help people in the future but how about helping people now the ones that cannot wait the government has a system in place that is failing the people and it needs to be changed so that those who stood in long lines for the privilege to cast their vote can be heard will be heard right now not five years from now that is what I would like to see and the world would be in a better place if this was possible and it can only in America.
