What Defines a Hero

What defines a hero, well the simple definition is someone who goes above and beyond to help someone or to serve their country, and while those things are very noble, I'm of the mindset that heroism is much deeper than that for some people it is simply the greatest achievement that can be bestowed on someone, but what happens when you find out that the person you call a hero has flaws, do you then reconsider your feelings toward that person? Well here is my opinion I believe as I have said before real heroes don't want the attention that they receive because true heroes are unsung they are not out looking for fame, glory, or recognition, which brings me to a topic that I want to speak on and that is the Marine who was recently acquitted  of murder in New York for choking out a man on the train who was having mental health issues, and his acquittal was celebrated by many who labeled him a great hero most of whom had never heard of him until he was on trial, and he was seen at a football game with Donald Trump and J.D Vance drinking beers, and living it up, he will probably be given a job in the new administration, all because he choked a man out, oh I forgot did I mention that he was a black? yeah, he was black, but you know how that story goes black man choked out his life is worthless anyway no big deal, except it was a big deal, as I have said previously on the Grown Men Podcast, I ride trains all the time and yes there are people who have mental health episodes, and I prepare myself to handle such an encounter but my first move is to gage the situation, if it's just someone spouting off I pay it no mind, but if it gets too heavy that's when I notify the train operator, and if someone is being  threatened I get the attention of nearby passengers to see if we all can diffuse the situation, the last resort should always be physical violence I truly believe that a person can be detained without having to murder them which was the outcome in this case. It was murder plain and simple and in this country murder is considered heroism, well that Marine is a murderer and nothing that the idiot Senator down in Texas or the two idiots heading to the White House can say that will change my mind so you can take your hero and yourselves and miss me with that B.S because I'm not buying it at all.
