This is our curse, our burden to carry as I look at my old neighborhood and neighborhoods like mine listen to people talk, and talk to other people about the youth today and clearly my generation dropped the ball a lot of us were thinking about the present and never about the future after all we were all young and immature running the streets, going to prison, getting killed while mothering and fathering children and not being there to make sure that they were ok I talk to some of the younger people and for the most part they all wish that their parents were more involved in their lives it's an unfortunate occurrence that has left our communities ravaged with young kids who don't respect themselves or others and can't distinguish the difference between life and death they didn't get this way on their own they had lots of help parents, police, poor schooling, all of these things were factors in what has become a terrible curse with no one answer to solve this it won't go away overnight either this is something that will take time to overcome it will take a lot of hard work from this generation and the next to stop this carnage from continuing will we get there? well that remains to be seen I do see a lot of changes being made and hopefully our future will shine bright and that all the violence of the past and present can be buried forever at least that's what i hope for
