Let me say this as an artist myself and other artists in the music world today I am very pleased with all of the opportunities there are for artists today that were not open in the past but part of me misses the nostalgia of the old days when I knew every artist name where they were from and how they got started today we have all of that too but there are so many artists vying to be the top artist that they are losing what it was all about and that was being the best at doing your music your way and also i never thought that i would say this even though it has been said by many people before me the music industry has become over saturated I remember when one of my favorite artist would drop new music that music would be new for two years they would tour radio stations would keep it in rotation and generally keep the buzz going by telling you when their tour was coming your way we used to be able to anticipate when the artist was coming to town nowadays music is old the day after it is released and labeled as yesterdays news causing artists to put out subpar material that should not have been released all in the name of staying "Relevant" I am glad that my favorite artists have not submitted to this because I like having to wait to hear my favorite artist drop knowledge that I have been patiently waiting to hear I know that the old days will probably never come back but there is a part of me that would love to see music get back to being about the artist and less about the hot topic of the day to me that is what music art is all about an artist painting his or her words on a lyrical canvass is to me the best thing ever and I wish that the real artists the ones who take their craft serious get the credit they deserve because to me that's what it is all about
