Shed No Tears

Here in my city Chicago and in many cities across the world there is this feel sorry show respect and salute these heroes that have died in the line of duty these brave men and women who put their lives on the line fighting the terrible crime that is ruining our cities half to which or the majority of these crimes are committed by these fine officers you say I sound a little biased against the police well it's because I am you see when I was a young man I used to believe the rhetoric about police officers but when I was about 10 years old I found out that what I believed to be true and what actually was true was two different things I was handcuffed and put in the back of a paddy wagon and accused of doing something that I was no where in the vicinity of where it happened I was minding my business walking to the store and harassed if it wasn't for one of my friend's mother who knew me who knows how this would have turned out I often wonder what would have happened to me had she not spoken up in my defense but the seed of doubt was planted and throughout my teenage years and into my adulthood I have watched my friends be harassed accused of lying and while being spoken to as if we are less than human fast forward to the present where former officer  Van Dyke who was found guilty of murder after firing 16 times and killing Laquan Mc Donald was allegedly beaten by inmates in prison and his wife is now crying tears about this being a racist attack well I'll be, imagine that I don't condone violence on anyone I don't tolerate it or celebrate it but in a world where people always claim justice is served well Mr. Van Dyke should have thought about this before he committed murder but then again he never thought that he would even face charges let alone go to prison so as I said in my opening I will never celebrate violence against anyone nor will I shed tears for police officers killed in the line of duty either because no one sheds tears for the families of the lives that are taken by police officers because in their minds they were not important "WE" are not important the people in these communities are not important so please forgive me for not being compassionate because where I come from I was never shown compassion
